Bonza Bay in East London is an exposed river break that has quite reliable surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Works best in offshore winds from the northwest. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the ideal swell angle is from the south. The river break offers both left and right hand waves. Best around low tide when the tide is rising. Sometimes crowded. Watch out for sharks.
