Halawa in Molokai is an exposed reef/rivermouth break that has quite reliable surf and can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds are from the south. Clean groundswells prevail and the ideal swell direction is from the north northwest. The right hand reef break is better than the left.. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Hazards include rocks, rips and sharks.
