Itapoa in North Bahia is an exposed beach break that has inconsistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Works best in offshore winds from the north with some shelter here from east winds. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the south. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Best around high tide. It very rarely gets crowded here.
