Jones Beach State Park in Long Island NY is an exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Works best in offshore winds from the northwest with some shelter here from west winds. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the best swell direction is from the southeast. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Dangerous rips are a hazard of surfing here.
