Oku in Okinawa is an exposed reef break that has reasonably consistent surf. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. Works best in offshore winds from the southwest. Windswells are much more common than groundswells and the best wave direction is from the north. Reef breaks provide lefts and rights. Rarely crowded here. Hazards include coral and sharks.
