Pedro Point in San Mateo is an exposed reef break that only works once in a while. Winter is the favoured time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the southeast. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the optimum swell angle is from the northwest. A reef breaks left. Best around high tide. Rarely crowded here. Hazards include rocks and sharks.
