Playa de Lastres in Asturias is a sheltered river break that has reasonably consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the south with some shelter here from east winds. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest. The river break provides left and right handers. Best around low tide. It's sometimes crowded here.
