Saint-Marie in North Reunion is a very sheltered beach break that has fairly consistent surf. Winter is the favoured time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the southeast. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell angle is from the west southwest. Waves at the beach break both left and right. It very rarely gets crowded here. Hazards include sharks and rocks.
