Santo Amaro in Lisbon is an exposed point break that has unreliable waves. Winter is the favoured time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds blow from the north. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the best swell direction is from the southwest. Best around high tide. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Beware of rocks and pollution.
