Sao Lourenco in Sao Paulo is an exposed river break that has quite reliable surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the northwest with some shelter here from east winds. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the southeast. The river breaks offer lefts and rights. Sometimes crowded. The water quality here is rather suspect.
