The Hough in Tiree is on the exposed west coast spot but doesn't break properly due to fringing offshore reefs according to the guys at the local surf school (Suds Surf School). It's best to head to nearby Balevullin. Offshore winds are from the southeast with some shelter here from southerly winds. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the ideal swell direction is from the north west. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Best around low tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded.
