Ribanceira in Santa Caterina is a sheltered beach break that has quite consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Ideal winds are from the southwest. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the optimum swell angle is from the south. Waves at the beach are mainly rights. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Watch out for dangerous rips.
