Ribeira Quente in Azores(Ilha de S. Miguel) is a quite exposed reef break that has inconsistent surf with no particular seasonal pattern. The best wind direction is from the north with some shelter here from west winds. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the southwest. A left hand reef. Even when the surf is up, crowds are unknown. Watch out for rocks.
