San Vicente Water Temperature and Wetsuit Guide

Don't be deceived by the very warm air temperatures as the water temperature at San Vicente will be much cooler (16 °C). Most surfers would wear a good quality spring wetsuit. Cloudy, but feeling very pleasant out of the water.

San Vicente sea temperatures peak in the range 20 to 23°C (68 to 73°F) on around the 13th of August and are at their lowest on about the 29th of February, in the range 12 to 13°C (54 to 55°F). San Vicente sea temperatures are maximum in the third week of August. Surfers should use a 2mm long sleeve shorty or a 3/2mm spring wetsuit if the wind is up. The lowest sea temperatures at San Vicente in late February are ideally suited to a 4/3mm wetsuit + 3mm boots, although a 5/3mm wetsuit may be preferable for longer sessions and cold windy days.
