Waiehu beach park in Maui is an exposed reef and point break that has reliable surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the south southwest. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the north northeast.There is a left hand point break here. Likely to be crowded if working. Hazards include urchins, rips, rocks, locals and sharks.
