Works best in offshore winds from the east with some shelter here from south southwest winds. Waves more likely to be from local windswells than distant groundswells and the ideal wave direction is from the west northwest. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights and in addition there are both left and right reef breaks. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Rarely crowded here. Watch out for rocks, urchins.
