Hobson County Park in Ventura is a reasonably exposed reef break that has dependable surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds blow from the east northeast. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the west northwest. The left reef break is best, but there is a right reef too.. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Sometimes crowded. Take care to avoid the rocks.
