Works best in offshore winds from the east with some shelter here from north winds. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest. Waves at the point tend to peel to the right. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Hazards include rocks, locals and sharks.
