Shonan Surf Guide
Shonan in Kanagawa and Chiba is a reasonably exposed beach and reef break that has quite consistent surf Offshore winds are from the north northwest. Windswells are much more common than groundswells and the ideal wave direction is from the southeast. The beach break provides left and right handers and in addition, both left and right reef breaks add variety.. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Overcrowding can even make surfing hazardous.
