Canal Surf Guide
Canal in Rio de Janeiro Norte is an exposed river break that has pretty consitent surf and can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds are from the southwest. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the east. Waves at the river are both lefts and rights. Best around low tide. Sometimes crowded. Try not to swallow any water - there are pollution concerns here.
