Goat Island/Mokuauia in Oahu is an exposed reef break that has very consistent waves, although summer tends to be mostly flat. The best wind direction is from the north. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the ideal swell angle is from the northeast. Both left (best) and right reef breaks.. Best around high tide when the tide is rising. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Beware of urchins, rips, rocks and sharks.
