Pololu Valley in Big Island is an exposed beach and reef break that has consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds are from the south southwest. Clean groundswells prevail and the ideal swell angle is from the northeast. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Take care of rips and sharks.
